Greetings from the gorgeous San Francisco Bay Area.
I am a theater artist and educator, originally from New York, but a Bay area resident since 2001. I teach theater here, and also have a long career as a professional playwright and director. I have passionate and eclectic taste in theater, art, and music, and love the fact that I am minutes away from nationally known arts organizations such as Berkeley Repertory Theater and The Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse - one of the premiere traditional music venues in the country - as well as the gritty, innovative West Oakland performance scene. We also have some of the best food on the planet. I also feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by such incredible natural beauty right on my doorstep.

My (fully hypo-allergenic, non-shedding!) dog Basil LOVES the water, and one of my favorite things to do is to take the drive out to the ocean and let him loose in the waves. A wet dog is a happy dog!
I didn't get to stay in Peter's home because my travel plans changed at the last minute, but after he stayed here, I made it to California and got to see his place. It's a wonderful, spacious, comfortable loft in a great location. I would definitely stay there in the future. He's a great guy, too.
This was a heavenly place to stay. When I want a beach vacation, I want as little between me and the water as possible. This flat is therefore perfect, and Franca is the perfect host. The beach itself is magnificent, and the apartment beautifully appointed. She supervised the design, and its simple, elegant, and lovely. The bedroom can be closed off from the rest of the unit, though large doors open out towards the water. The kitchen/living area is open to the sea. One set of stairs takes you to the patio with a gorgeous soaking pool, and you can be in the warm ocean in about 90 seconds. We went in summer, so it was very hot, but with the water so close, relief was seconds away. Why go anywhere else? I can promise you I will return.
