What we said about Marie's house:

I wholeheartedly recommend this home exchange on the French West Indies island of Guadeloupe. The family is friendly, organized, and terrific to make arrangements with as they are experienced exchangers. The home is lovely and very well situated on the island. There are walking trails nearby that lead through pastoral meadows to a wonderful Caribbean beach called St. Felix. The home is private, with a pool, and a great place to enjoy indoor-outdoor living on vacation. We had a fantastic experience!

Our 2 week Santa Monica exchange was a success in every way! Arthur and Leah have a home that is as comfortable and welcoming as they are. It is beautifully furnished and decorated with fun color and many relaxing and comfortable spaces. Our favourites were the 3rd floor 'screening room' and furnished outdoor patios. Their perfect location meant we could walk to the shopping action on the Promenade, the beach and ocean, waterfront walkways, grocery stores and restaurants. Yet their home is quiet and is in what feels like a lovely, safe neighbourhood with trees and friendly folks walking their dogs. All this AND only a 20 minute drive from LAX and the unforgettable Getty museum! Leah and Arthur were great to plan the exchange with. They were quick to communicate and anticipated our questions well. Leah's extensive notes on the area were very appreciated. We were on back-to-back exchanges so another coupled arrived immediately following their stay in our home and I had every confidence all would be in order - and it was. Their cat is about the most lovable yet independent feline you'll meet and he stole our hearts. You'll want to request Omar visiting rights when you leave! Thank you for all, Arthur and Leah. It was a wonderful experience that we're hoping you, too, will want to repeat!

What we said about Nola's house:

We exchanged with Nola and Paul for nearly two weeks in August, 2008 - and what a magnificent experience it was! Not only is their home a glowing example of clean, modern design, but its abundant floor to ceiling windows overlook possibly one of the world's most stunning views. That is to say that the home itself was everything we'd hoped for and the location was so good it was almost laughable. We appreciated the minimalist modern decor and the boutique hotel esthetic it creates. Coordinating with Nola was an absolute delight. She is exceptionally knowledgeable about Vancouver and its attractions and admirably organized. You'll appreciate both when you see the comprehensive binder she's created for your stay, complete with index, diagrams and detailed information that answers everything you'd possibly have a question about during your exchange. Their cat, Fussen, is a simply wonderful, low-maintenance creature who is terrific to have around. We find ourselves missing him! Nola and Paul exchanged with our home in Santa Monica, CA. Upon our return, everything was in perfect order. The only thing that was different was that there was a delicious homemade chocolate cake waiting for us. If you are considering a home exchange in Vancouver, I can not recommend Nola and Paul's home exchange opportunity enough. Through and through, they are a class act.

We exchanged with Leah and Arthur this summer and had the most wonderful time. Their property is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to Santa Monica beach, the pier and Third Street Promenade, in addition to lots of wonderful restaurants. Santa Monica is perfect for exploring Los Angeles and environs as it is centrally located and within easy striking distance of all of the main tourist attractions, however, it still manages to maintain the atmosphere of a small village. Although the town house is located so centrally, it is wonderfully quiet and restful. This is also aided by the fact that it is decorated in a clean Scandanivian style which in itself is relaxing and calming. We had the pleasure of looking after Omar the cat and that just added to our holiday as he is such a great character. Our boys were missing their pets so Omar was a welcome addition to the holiday. This was our first home exchange and being complete novices we were not sure how things were going to work out, but Leah and Arthur were fantastic. They were easy going, flexible and made the whole process a pleasure. We had the perfect exchange and we feel like we have made new friends along the way. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

What we said about Gerard's house:

We had the privilege of exchanging with this lovely family and their exceptional home in the Basque region of France. In a word, the home is magnificent. It's a large 18th century 3-story home that's been meticulously restored and decorated with beautiful flair. The home is in the heart of the Pyrenees, with farms and charming villages dotting the peaks and valleys. We love exploring, and between all the nearby castles, hikes, villages, and scenic escapes, this area is an adventure playground. Arriving at their home was like a dream come true. There was a lovely welcome basket and personal notes to make us feel at home. A friend of theirs met us at the house and gave us a warm welcome and great information about the area. It was really nice knowing there was someone nearby who was an english-speaking resident to help us along with any difficulties (there weren't any :)). Perhaps best of all was coordinating the exchange with this family. In the planning, they were very organized, yet easy-going, and made arrangements a breeze. And it just got better during the exchange. They're terrific communicators also, letting us know they arrived and the goings on while we were away, which was very much appreciated. They took care of our cat, Omar, while in our home. We couldn't have asked for more loving and responsible caretakers. The two boys showered our cat with attention to the point that our return was met with our cat's indifference! Our home was in perfect shape when we returned. This generous family left a lovely note and kindly left a bottle of our favorite champagne and other mementos. We can't recommend an exchange with this family and their gorgeous French country home enough!
