Hello from Australia
Hello I am Catherine. My husband Matthew, and I are business people who own and run Our Own Companies. We employ around 50 staff. We also invest in property development, which I manage.
We are very honest and respectable and we are extremely clean and caring of our own home and of anyone else’s. We are NON-SMOKERS and in our early 50's.
We enjoy just about anything life has to offer and we have had some wonderful experiences over the years from white water rafting and snow skiing to mountain climbing, playing golf and many sports, with still much more to experience. We love most sports and enjoy sharing time and playing games/cards with our family and friends.
We love the theatre, music, museums, sight seeing, tennis, jet skiing, and visiting other parts of the world. In 2003 we experienced a fabulous trip to Paris for our 20th Wedding Anniversary where we renewed our vows to each other. For our 25th Wedding Anniversary in March 2008 we were in Venice, Italy and experienced a wonderful trip, mostly through home exchanges. 30th coming up next year and we will be looking for places in Dubai and Ireland through March/April.
We have 2 daughters 29 & 27 and 2 sons 24 & 21.
We also now have three grandchilden. Two girls by our eldest daughter and a boy by our second daughter!
Our eldest son is in business with My husband and I in a new building company while our youngest has recently completed his Plumbing apprenticeship and will be working with us in that business.
We now hope to experience some more wonderful traveling with our adult children and families. And sometimes without them. Each trip will be different numbers.
Our family are most respectful and caring of any home we might visit. Our children may also request home exchanges with our apartments for their own exchange trips as well.
we had the privlege hosting Matt and Catherine a perfect couple which look still engaged like at the college, instead, their 25th anniversary have been spent in Italy and we can just tell you all that they are really perfect guests, absolutely unbelievble people full of principles and deep emotions. we can just envy the next lucky home exchanger because we would be in his place to have them again. their place is amazing and close to the beaches.
Over Easter 2008 we had the pleasure of our first Hospitality stay with this wonderful couple, Eros and Galia. They welcomed us into their beautiful home at Prato and showed us the best time possible while we were there. Our stay was filled with such generosity shown to us by way of taking us to fabulous local restaurants, sites and attractions. We felt very welcome and relaxed in their beautifully decorated home. Eros and Galia are such beautiful people who are truly in touch with getting the best out of life and it was a pleasure to experience the company and hospitality of these lovely people. I strongly recommend a stay with Eros and Galia if you are interested in good company and a great experience in Tuscany. We are so looking forward to them coming to visit us in Australia and hope that we may also show them as wonderful a time as we had.
We were visiting friends in Port Stephens ( flying in on JetStar from Brisbane to Newcastle) so the Oaks Pacific Blue Resort was perfect for our needs. Between the swim out pool and the air conditioning we were always comfortable with the summer heat. The one bedroom unit was very comfortable and had all dishes and cookware supplied as well as washer and dryer. The patio was extra big and safely enclosed. Port Stephens was my favourite stop in our trip- easy to get around, beautiful beaches, and lots to do. My favourite beach was Fingal Bay for swimming- not surfing waves, clear water and breathtaking view of islands, sea, sand and sky. For hiking, Tomaree headland lookout was amazing! For an out of town drive a trip to the Hunter Valley for wine tasting was a great experience stopping in the town of Morpeth along the way to see the old historic buildings of yesteryear. A ferry ride over to Tea Gardens ( Island across from the Port) with a picnic basket is a sure way to catch some dolphins. Port Stephens is the dolphin capital of Australia. The locally grown macadamia nuts and avocados are a must buy (the market times can be found in the visitor's guide.) We walked the d'Albora Marina at night (very romantic) and shopped there in the day. This is where you can sign up for the many tours available as well as check out the visitor's information centre. If our children had been with us we would have been riding camels on the dunes, scuba diving, parasailing and being much more adventurous, but we will save that for another visit! We met Catherine and Matthew for supper one night and wish to thank them again for their trust and new friendship. We look forward to them enjoying beautiful Vancouver Island Canada in the future.
