Our Home
Also, the house is NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RYDER CUP.
Beside The Gleneagles® Hotel is the village of Glenmor in Perthshire, Scotland.
Our luxury holiday home is built in the Scottish village style and nestles amongst pine trees and gently rising banks of heather. You will have all of the comforts of home while enjoying the extensive facilities and 5-star service of one of the world's premier golf resorts.
Our home gives us views of the breathtaking scenery over the Perthshire moors and beyond. The furnishings have been put together with carpets and furniture by international designer, Amanda Rosa.
We have our own private balcony and a modern, fully equipped kitchen that opens into a stylish dining area. Adjustable under-floor heating throughout provides comforting warmth all year round. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and we also have a separate bathing room of unparalleled luxury.
The living room
We’re often tempted to just spend time indoors together, lounging around the fire. The gabled, first floor living room gives us so much light and space, not to mention panoramic views. And with an eight-seater dining table we have ample room to entertain.
With all the soft fabrics and rich leathers, it feels luxurious and restful.
The balcony
We often have breakfast on the balcony with its views over the Strathearn Hills. Sitting out at the table to enjoy the clean Perthshire air and those acres of rolling heather moorland is the perfect way to start (or end) the day. It's partly covered so we can eat outside at any time of year, enjoying stunning views on both sides.
The kitchen
We eat in our own kitchen at the times that suit us best. When we have guests, the open-plan layout means nobody feels stuck in the kitchen.
It’s beautifully appointed and has everything we need. Under-floor heating, polished granite worktops, top of the range appliances (including a huge American fridge/freezer) and the light, airy space make cooking here a pleasure.
The bedrooms and bathing rooms
The beds are big and so comfortable, with the beautiful Egyptian linen that you only get in the best hotels.
Each bedroom has been individually designed in calming, natural colours: heather grey and autumn brown, sage and teal and smoky blue.
Laid out over the ground floor, each bedroom has its own television and en suite bathroom. Thanks to the under-floor heating, stepping onto warm tiles after an invigorating shower makes the morning routine feel like a luxurious treat. And the showers themselves are fantastic – roomy and powerful, like standing under a waterfall. There is an emphasis on luxury here rather than just simple amenity - we’ve got a five-star hotel suite, only it’s a home.
The master bedroom is equipped with a safe and a trouser press. We have plenty of storage space and the housekeeping service keeps everything beautifully clean and fresh.
The bathing room
The main bathing room is in fact a private spa. The tub is just huge, deep - roomy enough for two, with endless hot water. The best bit of the day is lighting the candles and stepping into pure, uninterrupted indulgence.
Amenities
And as we’re at home, watching a classic film on the DVD/video player or snuggling up with a favourite CD is the perfect way to unwind. Dimmer switch lighting and individual control sound systems in every room let us create our own atmosphere of light and music.
For domestic necessities, there’s a drying room and a separate utility room housing a washer/dryer, ironing board and iron. The house can also be made fully child-friendly with highchairs, cots, safety gates and bottle warmers available on request.
Each home is fully equipped with linen, tea towels, bath and hand towels, which are freshly laundered once each week. They can be provided more frequently for a small charge.
Bicycles
We’ve got all this wonderful countryside and grounds for picnics and bike rides. And as we get a couple of bikes thrown in as part of the package, there’s nothing to stop us having an off-road adventure whenever the mood takes us. We can also hire extra bikes from the hotel for either the children or ourselves.

Our Neighborhood
Access to all of the facilities that Gleneagles has to offer:
There are a wide variety of activities available besides golf – riding, shooting, fishing, tennis, falconry and walking through some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.
Golf
Of course, Gleneagles® is famous for its golf. Now that we have all learnt to play, everyone can enjoy the stunning scenery out on the three championship courses.
The Golf Academy’s coaching team is excellent and even beginners are made to feel at home. And as it’s host to The Ryder Cup in 2014, it's exciting to play the courses before future champions and maybe spot a few in action.
Horse riding
Some mornings we head to the stables for a ride out in the fresh Perthshire air. The Equestrian School is one of the best equipped in the world and outside the grounds lie acres of beautiful, wide-open spaces for cross-country hacks.
Shooting
The Shooting Lodge offers lessons in 12 different target disciplines and we’ve tried a variety of simulated birds as well as air rifle practice and archery.
Fishing
Whether you prefer fishing the lochs for trout or pitting your wits against a Tay River salmon, the hotel’s ghillies provide the knowledge, advice and wry local humour to ensure a memorable day, whatever the season.
Falconry
We love getting kitted out in Barbour jackets and gloves to handle and fly the hotel’s Harris hawks. And a visit to the mews is always fascinating – we like to check on the captive breeding programme’s new arrivals.
Off Road Driving
With miniature Land Rovers for the children, ridges, gullies and water splashes for the adventurous and scenic safaris with champagne and a gourmet picnic for the more sedate, we can all enjoy a day out in the Perthshire countryside, whatever the weather.
Walking
The Strathearn area of Perthshire gives walkers a great variety of routes, from the simplest and least strenuous trails exploring the streets of local historic villages to something more adventurous further afield.
Retail Therapy
The hotel has its own set of little boutiques – perfect for finding last minute gifts or for just having a browse on a quiet afternoon. Shops displaying specialty whiskies, golfing accessories, cashmere, crystal and jewellery are laid out along a miniature gallery adjacent to The Club.
The Spa
The Spa is where I go to unwind and be totally pampered - the reason we come to Gleneagles after all. It's a world in itself where you can keep fit, detox or just rest. With a variety of different treatments to choose from, it's so easy to relax here, in such beautiful surroundings.
Child friendly
Children are never bored here – even the complimentary Sony PlayStation room, adjacent to The Club, gets forgotten as every day becomes packed with exciting activities. And we can arrange wall to wall babysitting in advance if we want it.
