We have a perfect house for a family with many facilities inside and outside. Outside we have a farm with many trees (and a platform treehouse) and two streams and ponds. We have 4 horses but they haven't been ridden much recently. Also we have two strictly outside farm cats and friendly ducks and chickens. Recently we have also some rhea birds which are really tame. There is a fullsize trampoline in the garden (for adults and children! ) and a indoor heated swimming pool ( May - September) in a building near the house. Inside the house is large and comfortable with table tennis and a pool table. There is a computer with interent (broadband) and everything you need including guitars! The house is in a beautiful valley on its own but the village is only 0.5km and there is a pub and a railway station (the Aberdeen -Inverness line). We still have many toys and books for small children and table tennis (which takes up most of the biggest sitting room but it can be folded up if you don't play!).

We live in an area with a lot of historical interest see the National Trust and Historic Scotland (www. historic-scotland. gov. uk and www. scotlandforyou. co. uk) and great natural beauty. There are many small art galleries (NEOS) and traditional shops in the countryside, good walking hills on the doorstep and pony trekking yet Aberdeen and the city attractions is 35 minutes by train. There a beautiful golf course in Insch with a friendly clubhouse and there are many others in the area. During summer there are tourist events with Highland Games with Caber tossing and traditional bagpipe music and farm shows. There are beautiful coastal fishing villages within 1 hour and these are often good places to eat and buy fish. There are also beautiful beaches within one hour in two directions and castles that are now hotels and resturants.
Inverness and loch ness (2 1/2 hrs) can be visited on a day trip and Edinburgh is 3 1/2 hours . The Grampian mountains are beautiful and you can visit Balmoral in July.

Insch is a safe neighbourhood and children can walk to the village where there is a good playpark and tennis courts and activities for children (5 - 14 years) in the summer. Children can use the golf courses in Aberdeenshire so it is a good place if the whole family wants to play golf. There is also a small skate park in the village.

There are lots of tourist offices in the towns and villages here and everyone is very friendly. I will give you as much information as possible and help you to make the most of your time here. I am happy to exchange cars though ours is very old but I also have a vespa scooter (125) if you have a licence to drive it and we have a couple of bikes you can use, adults and childs golf glubs etc! There are lots of things for all ages to do in the house.

On the farm we have a part-time paintball field. If you want to use the guns it could be arranged but you would have to buy your own balls.

Next summer August not possible now and would offer hospitality exchange in July. Looking for a European city exchange for christmas.

Always looking for city centres such as London or Stockholm for short exchanges or hospitality exchanges and also wildlife (outback)areas for longterm exchanges especially africa.


Australia (city centre or rural), carribean, china, indonesia , USA,vietnam, south africa , mexico etc at Christmas or easter I would also consider a non simultaneous exchange (hospitality here) if you had a second house.

We could offer hospitality to a single traveler or couple and since the children are older we don't always travel as a family now! However in August/Christmas we sometimes need room for 8.
We are a family of 5. Father (Brock) is an engineer working in Iraq in oil exploration. Mother (Rosie) is at home studying for a Masters in Anthropology. Oldest Beatrice is 25 and just graduated in Russian at Glasgow University. Brock (23) has just arrived home from teaching English in China and has now started University in Aberdeen. Max 19 likes to spend time with at home and last winter was teaching skiing in Austria. They are all interested in music to varying degrees and we have various instruments around the house.
