Our luxurious and spacious villa offers you the best of three worlds: Belgium, Holland and Germany. Our home is situated in Zutendaal, a very 'green' village in Belgium that is very near the Dutch and German border. We are 15 km's from Maastricht, a very beautiful and elegant old university town which is tourist destination nr. 2 in Holland.

About our home: it is a new and large 2-storey home (architect-designed) with 4 large bedrooms & 2 baths, a large playroom, a separate large office/library with an iMac and Windows 7 PC with wifi access and printer /fax/copier/scanner. WIFI throughout house and garden, so just take your laptop if you must work!
The downstairs playroom is provided with a TV, PC, PS2, Wii, toys, games, play kitchen etc. The livingroom is also very spacious with a mix of antiques and modern design. We feel it has a comfortable and cozy atmosphere. The house further has all the amenities including separate laundryroom with washer and dryer. The separate new kitchen with granite floor and countertops has all you could wish for including an espresso machine. In the home are digital TV, iPod dock, VCR and several DVD players. Furthermore, a large pool, table tennis and a trampoline will keep your kids and yourself occupied. Our garden with childsafe solar heated cover pool is completely fenced in, so you don't need to worry about your kids when you are relaxing.
Our housekeeper is probably willing to help you if you so wish.

If you want to visit Europe, our home is an ideal and central location. You could visit all the sights of Belgium, western parts of Germany and Holland from our home without having to spend the night away. We are 1 hour from Antwerp & Brussels and only minutes from Maastricht, which has plenty of 2 or 3 star Michelin restaurants. Paris & Amsterdam are 3 hours away by train or car.
Another beautiful old town is Hasselt (only 15 km's: great for shopping & dining). The ancient German towns of Düsseldorf, Aachen and Cologne are less than 1 hour from our home. A high-end shopping center (http://www.maasmechelenvillage.com/en/home/home) and an outlet center are within 15-20 minutes from our home.

We are member of the Zutendaal sailing club and your kids could swim, surf or rent a small sailing boat and take it out on the lake, which is within walking distance from our home. It is a small lake with a nice artificial white sandbeach.

Also good to know is that we are in proximity of several local airports (cheap parking & flying), from which lowcost airlines fly to London, South of France/Italy or Spain. Another favorite weekendtrip of us is to go winetasting (and -buying) in the Alsace.

Zutendaal is a very sought after residential area, known for it's many horses, woods and chapels. Our villa is situated at the edge of the woods and is within walking distance from supermarket, pharmacy, charcuterie, patisserie, bakery, bank, bus etc. For those of you who do not like shopping or dining: the immediate area is great for outdoor activities: golfing, hiking, walking, horsebackriding and biking (our bikes are available). We often go for a day to the Ardennes or the German Black Forest for it's beautiful and rugged scenery.

Our garden is 1700 sq. mtr's and offers a private solar heated pool, shaded patio's,BBQ, comfortable loungechairs and other gardenfurniture. There is a swing/playset with picknicktable for the kids.
We do not smoke ourselves. Smoking outside our home is fine. Car exchange (2 cars) is possible.
We have friendly neighbours who can answer your questions if you have any.

Please note that we have already agreed to an exchange for summer 2013, so we can only discuss plans from summer 2013 onwards!

We equally enjoy travels abroad and in Europe and are open to suggestions.
