Killcare is a small seaside village, approximately 70 kms north of Sydney (much of that is freeway). Our village has a couple of shops, beauty parlour, 4 cafes/restaurants, a surf club with a kiosk and restaurant, a pub with a licensed restaurant, a newsagent/general store, a liquor store, a post office, and a boat marina - just the way we like it! It feels like the country, but is easily accessible to Sydney. It is a popular upmarket tourist destination for Australians and overseas visitors alike.
The house is equipped with all modern conveniences. If you like cooking, you'll find our kitchen has an abundance of features, appliances and cooking accessories - all the best quality - for you to enjoy your passion.

We are surrounded by National Parks and water, so there is plenty of ‘outdoor’ activity in the area, like bush walking, surfing, swimming, boating, fishing etc. The Hunter Valley Wine Region is approx 1 1/2 hours drive from us, where you might see a few kangaroos in the wild (something which might only interest the non-Australian visitors) as well as taste some good Australian wines if that's your fancy. There are plenty of beautiful beaches and villages to explore all around us. Ten minutes from us is a commuter train station which will take you to the centre of Sydney in approx. 55 - 65 minutes.

We are non-smokers and ask only that guests refrain from smoking inside the house.
Car exchange is available.

Flexible - but we are not snow lovers.

We are a retired couple,from professional jobs as an Architect (Digby) and a Computer Marketing Executive (Marilyn). We love to travel. We moved to Australia from Canada many years ago - loved the country and stayed!

We have exchanged quite a few times and it has always been a wonderful experience. Our longest exchange was with Paris for 6 months. In the last few years we have done lots of overseas exchanges - many were multiples, for example 3 exchanges in one trip - Vancouver, Zurich and Hong Kong. Another, we exchanged with London, Toulon and Umbria. Recently, we exchanged in Spain, New York and then San Diego. They were all wonderful experiences. In addition to these overseas exchanges, we have done many exchanges within Australia and New Zealand.

In 2011-12 we have stuck to the Southern Hemisphere and thoroughly enjoyed exchanging with people in Australia from Tasmania, Victoria, and Southern Queensland. It's been fabulous to see more of this part of the world. We love to travel and did go to Cambodia and Vietnam also, but couldn't land an exchange for that trip.
