I am very lucky to live in a large sunny apartment on the third floor overlooking a lovely park and a beautiful beach. Down the lift and out the door and you are on the sand in a few minutes.

We have the most wonderful climate – I swim in the ocean with my friends every morning before breakfast. In the three winter months of June, July, August we still swim...but usually at mid-day on weekends.

I have recently renovated my fully secure airconditioned apartment which comprises of three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one ensuite to the main) polished floorboards and a state of the art kitchen and laundry. My apartment has wifi. I have just bought a 55" TV for the sitting room and have televisions in the kitchen, and master bedroom. I have recently invested in a Latex Tempur bed which I just love.

The sitting room, kitchen and all three bedrooms have access to outdoor balconies. (two queen size beds and one double bed )

We have a breathtaking view of the local beach, the river entrance and the mountains beyond. The front balcony is a perfect place for a glass of wine when the sun is going down......or take a picnic over to the beach and enjoy eating under the stars.

A lovely stroll around the beach and along the boardwalk which runs alongside the river and in ten minutes you are in the centre of town with a choice of lovely restaurants, movies, galleries and cafes. If you don't want a walk we have a delightful new cafe next door - a wonderful choice for breakfast and enjoying the daily paper.

We look down on a large park with children's play equipment and the tennis courts, heated swimming pool and the bowling club are about a three minute walk.

There is a day spa in the resort next door and also a lovely new restaurant that specialises in seafood. The Bowling Club has a budget priced menu for families and the Stunned Mullett (three minutes walk) offers much more sophisticated fare. This has become the popular choice of most of my swappers.

We often stroll to town along the breakwall beside the river to visit the local wine bars....we walk home late and watch the dolphins feeding. Visitors and locals gather on the headlands to watch the whales cruise up and down the coast twice a year.

A 20 minute drive inland brings you to the famous Cassegrain Winery, where you can enjoy a lovely afternoon of tasting the local product and they serve the most delicious meals. I don't play myself but house swappers have told me that the eight golf courses within easy driving distance in the area are stunning. Port Macquarie is approximately 400 Km north of Sydney, served by airlines, trains (Wauchope station) and buses. It is an hour flight (Qantas or Virgin) from Sydney into our local airport but if you chose to drive it takes about 4 hours. In the past, if my swappers have wanted to, I have left my car for them at Sydney airport and they have motored up the coast at their leisure.

A car can be exchanged (2007 Subaru Outback 4x4 premium with sunroof and sat. nav.)

The town wraps around beautiful beaches and the Hastings River and ten minutes to the west you will love wandering through the countryside and exploring the Emerald Heartlands.

I have some lovely friends who would be happy to meet you on your arrival and to answer any questions you have during your stay.

We have some purpose built bike paths around the river. I have two surf skis available for fun in the ocean or a tranquil paddle up the river. I can send more pictures if you would like.

I am planning a ski holiday with my twin sister in the Dolomites in Italy in January 2014 and would be interested in a swap in that area around that time.

I love snow skiing, surf skiing and bike riding. I would love to experience different places and cultures and will wait to be surprised! I would also be interested in exchanging within Australia. I intend to spend a lot more time exploring the country of my birth - hence New Zealand is at the top of my list.
