Our house is huge 250sqm flat, on the 3rd floor(in US terms, 2nd in Euruopean ones) of an 18th century beautiful building in the centre of Florence. It has been owned by our anchestors since it building, when Florence became Capital of Italy. It is made up of about 15 rooms plus a little terrace on the roof with view on the heart of Florence. It is very fresh even in summer (just in case there is air conditioning, too). It is full of light, all painted in light yellow or pale antique-pink. some of the ceilings are decorated with XVIII centuries frescos. there are 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms of which one with Jacuzzi, a living room, a dining room, laundry room etc. It is furnished mostly with antiques but with a nice mix of modern. beautiful porcellaines, a gourmet kitchen and a romantic small roof terrace on the facing the Synagogue (fantastic when illuminated for the interior!) and with a peaceful and fantastic view over Palazzo Vecchio and the center of Florence.
We have cable TV, no-zone DVD, Apple TV and plenty of english movies, etc.Frankly speacking our place is really beautiful and not common, even to Italian standars. it is VERY clean and we want it to be kept that way (we can arrange house cleaning to help you our in that) . we thus prefere to exchage with houses of equal standard.

The house is in the most beautiful residential area in the very historical centre of Florence, known as Piazza D'Azeglio. It is 3 minutes walking from Santa Croce Cathedral, the Duome or Ponte Vecchio! It is a very Florentine part of the town that is to say where "real Florentines" (a rarity in fact! ) still live. The day market of Sant'Ambrogio where you can find any sort of delicious food is a few hundred metres away. It you do not fell like cooking it is an area with plenty of little restaurants of all sorts. the world-renown Gelateria Vivoli (ice cream shop) is only e few block away - that in Florence means 2 minute walking!
Shops of all sorts are only a minute away - litterally, the grocery store is 10 metres away and - rarity for Italy - it is open 7/7!!! Also, on the last week-end of each month the famous Flea Market is 200 metres away.
Yet, the area is very quite (half of the flat is facing on the private garden. and if you want to climb on the hill of Piazzale Michelangelo is a 20 minutes walk to get on the top.
The Ugolino golf club with it beautiful swimming pool and tennis is only 15 km (8 miles) away.

sorry no smoking, no pets; the house is unfortunately for an handicapped person or for a person with mobility problems as there are two sets of stairs with no elevator (ie travel light!!)

our home is mostly open, just ask!!! advanced notice is preferable! exchange does not need to be neither simultaneous nor of the exact same lenght.

Giorgio loves pools so we prefere places with a pool, and a little green around. we also prefer water front homes when we go to the beach.
we have succesfully exchanged several times in the US, Jamaica, Sounth Africa, Mexico, US and several places in Europe.
We now live in DC and are therefore ready to benefit of its priximity (at least by plane) to the caraibbians and other beautiful places!
Our preference goes to beachfront houses in unspoiled and unpopulated beaches.
Our preference goes to houses around the world situated directly on the beach in quite, unspoiled places. Exchange does not need to be simultaneous but we would like the swap to have equal standing as ours. now that Giorgi enjoys skiing we are ready to explore all the US have to offer ski-wise!!!

We are a florentine family now living between Brussels and Washington, DC. we have a wonderful 7 years old son, Giorgio, already too much used at travelling and home exchanging! He is extremely well behaved (never broke a toy!!!!) his playroom in Florence is a must-see! He loves swimming (in the pool) and skiing!
