Our Home
See the sights of Washington, DC and then escape to our waterfront vacation home that is one hour from DC (90 minutes during rush hour). Or come and spend your entire time swimming, boating, fishing, or just watching the sunset from our pier. Our 7 bedroom home was built in 2010 and offers the following activities and amenities:
ACTIVITIES
Swimming: The river is one mile wide in front of our house so it is more like a lake. There is a public beach a half-mile away, but we always just swim at our 120-ft wide sandy beach. The water is shallow (4 ft deep at the end of the pier) so that it is comfortable for swimming from late April to late September.
Ski Boat: Our Yamaha AR230 ski boat may be available for your use if you have boating experience. We also have water skis, kneeboards, wake boards, tubes, etc. for your use.
Sailboat: Our 19' Flying Scot sailboat may be available for your use if you have experience sailing.
Kayak: We have one kayak that you can use or bring your own.
Fishing and crabbing are outstanding. We catch lots of perch, catfish, croaker, spot, and crabs from our 150-ft long pier. There is also a 600-ft public pier one-half mile away.
Hot tub
Pool table
Basketball goal
Wireless high-speed internet and cable TV
Golf and Tennis. There is a public golf course in the neighborhood which you can play for around $50 a round. Use of tennis courts is free.
Fire pit for roasting s'mores
Amish market in town is great for buying produce and baked goods.
HOUSE AMENITIES
The house has 4 full bathrooms and 7 bedrooms, which are configured in the following way:
2nd Floor Bedrooms
Master: King size bed
Bedroom 2: 2 twin beds
Bedroom 3: 2 twin bunk beds
Bedroom 4: 1 crib (space for air mattress)
Third Floor Bedrooms
Bedroom 5: 1 king size bed and crib and room for an air mattress
Bedroom 6: 1 queen size futon bed and 2 twin bunk beds
Bedroom 7: 1 queen size bed and 1 twin bed
In addition to the 7 bedrooms, the playroom has a pull out couch that turns into a king-size bed with a Tempur-pedic mattress.
The first floor has a very open floor plan with lots of windows so there are great waterfront views from every room.
The screened-in porch has a table that seats 12 people.
The raised patio has the hot tub and lots of places for sitting, relaxing, and watching the sunset.
There are lots of toys for kids.
As the house is a vacation home, we can do non-simultaneous exchanges.
The address of the home is 35405 Army Navy Drive, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.

Our Neighborhood

Outside of our neighborhood the area is very rural and there is a large Amish population that lives nearby. Visit their market or their homes to buy produces or baking goods.
The neighborhood is only an hour from Washington, DC (90 minutes in rush hour traffic). It is in southern Maryland, not on the eastern shore of MD, so you don't have to battle Bay Bridge traffic.
